Textile Standard Services and Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan took part in the ESG forum
Today Textile Standard Services and Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan took part in the ESG forum organized by UN Global Compact in Central Asia and Kursiv Uzbekistan on topic “From price to value: transformation of economy for sustainable development”.
When we talk about textile industry, textile enterprises in Uzbekistan contribute to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and the green economy in several ways:
– Environmental Initiatives: Many enterprises are adopting sustainable practices, such as using organic cotton, implementing water-saving technologies, and reducing chemical use. They are also investing in renewable energy sources and waste management systems to minimize environmental impact.
– Social Responsibility: Uzbek textile companies are increasingly focusing on fair labor practices, improving working conditions, and ensuring the well-being of their employees. They support local communities by providing jobs and engaging in various social initiatives including charity, opening of schools and kindergartens, supporting vulnerable groups of citizens and etc.
– Governance Practices: Companies are enhancing transparency, adhering to international standards, and promoting ethical business practices. This includes rigorous compliance with environmental regulations and active engagement in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
Overall, these efforts contribute to a more sustainable and responsible textile industry in Uzbekistan, aligning with global ESG and green economy goals.
