The year 2022 was a breakthrough in the field of international certification
The dynamic development of the sphere of international standards served as one of the drivers for the lifting of the boycott of Uzbek cotton by the Cotton Campaign coalition, which is the main breakthrough of 2022.
The textile industry has reached a global level and has become a participant in the UN Sustainability Pledge and UN Global Compact programs, and the international cotton committees ICAC and PSAC. For successful cooperation with global brands, the Association has also established cooperation with the SLCP social program, the European Confederation of Clothing and Textiles EURATEX, the European Commission, the GSP+ office in the EU for compliance with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles until 2030, the Austrian innovative manufacturer of new types of materials Lenzing Group and the Swiss company – EASTMAN, the international Forum for the Future program in the field of regenerated agriculture, the French GINETEX certification association, the German Technical Institute PTB, and experts of the Calidena quality program, presented an independent report by the Swiss company Gherzi on the textile industry, officially launched the program together with the Better Cotton Initiative in Uzbekistan, presented the results of an analysis of the industry with Better Work.
In addition, an agreement was signed with the American certification company WRAP, and business forums were held in Spain and Germany. Textile enterprises are leading in the implementation of international standards, where in 2022 more than 100 exporters received “OEKO-TEX Standard 100”, “BSCI”, “Sedex”, “GOTS”, “OCS”, “GRS”, ISO 9001.
Textile Standard Services has also organized several training sessions together with international partners – in Turkey (on the topic of organic cotton), in Belgium (on the topic of GSP+ benefits), in Uzbekistan (on the topic of environmental and social standards).
